The Process Welding Systems' special lathe is used
for welding components that are used for radiation detection in oil
production equipment. The compact lathe design is for use in a glove
dry box.
The welding equipment used is a Miller Maxstar 200LX with a Weldcraft
WP-50 small TIG torch with 50 amps maximum current. Head is only
5/8” in diameter.
The SCS-102 solid state motor speed control provides speeds from
0.5 rpm to 25 rpm. The control has a forward and reverse function
and automatic and manual modes.
